NurseCETracker

What this is

NurseCETracker is a free, state-by-state tracker of nursing continuing education (CE) and license renewal rules for all 50 states and DC, with free email renewal reminders. It launched on October 16, 2026. We are not affiliated with any state board of nursing, CE Broker or any CE provider.

How the data is verified

  • Official sources only. Requirements come from official state board of nursing websites and, where linked, state statutes and administrative code. Secondary sites (CE providers, CE Broker marketing pages, other trackers) are not used as a source of truth.
  • Every state page shows its source and date. Each state lists the official source URL, the rule citation where we have one, and the date it was last verified.
  • Gaps are labeled, not guessed. If we couldn't confirm a detail from the official page, we say so. Renewal fees are shown only where we've read them on an official board or state page (13 states so far); everywhere else the page says "not yet verified" and links to the board.
  • Conflicts are flagged. When a board's own pages disagree, we note it and point you to the board.

Update plan

Our plan is to re-check every state against its official board source each quarter, and to re-check a state sooner when its board announces a rule or fee change. The "last verified" date on each state page shows when that state was actually last checked.

Editorial policy

This site is informational, not legal advice. Always confirm requirements with your state board of nursing before you renew. Affiliate or sponsor relationships never change the requirement data we publish, and there are no sponsored placements inside requirement tables.

Corrections

Spot something wrong or out of date? Report an error. Include a link to the board page if you can. Corrections are noted in the change log on the affected state page.

How we make money

Renewal reminders and all state pages are free. The site may earn commissions from CE providers we link to, such as Nurse.com (our application to its affiliate program is pending). If you buy a course through some links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never affect what we report as required.

Privacy summary

Reminder emails are sent through Buttondown. We store the email address, the states and the license expiration month you give us, only to send reminders and occasional CE updates. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click.
